Press Release

Show preview: Heason Technology at DSEI 2019 at ExCel - London, Stand S3-102 - 10th - 13th September

Returning to DSEI after a very successful show appearance in 2017, Heason Technology, the leading UK motion control and positioning systems integrator will once again demonstrate its capability for the design and build of customised motion systems at DSEI through working demos and a selection of individual motion components from its distribution partners. This year from 10th - 13th September at ExCel - London, Heason Technology will be co-hosting its stand S3-102 with Spinea s.r.o., the Slovakian designer and manufacturer of novel high-precision reduction gear units.

spinea gear unit

Spinea are a prominent distribution partner for Heason, producing high precision zero-backlash reduction gear units with high-torque capacity and especially suited to high accuracy positioning tasks where extreme axial and radial rigidity is essential. As a gear reducer and radial-axial bearing in a single unit, this power transmission component is perfect for installations where space is at a premium. Heason typically build the gear units into precision rotary actuators - complete with servo drives and feedback encoders using its in-house specialised design capability. Variants are available complete with integrated servo motors and standalone rotary table versions are also offered.

An example of Heason's capabilities as a producer of bespoke systems we will be showing a high thrust precision servo-mechanical linear actuator.

This unit was designed from scratch to meet the requirements of our customer in terms of performance and size envelope. The actuator in capable of achieving 8kN thrust at 200mm/sec. It incorporates both rotary and linear position encoders and has a failsafe holding brake with the capability of being manually overridden if required.

Brushless servo motor technology with EtherCAT and/or CANOpen can be employed for control and diagnostics. The actuator has also been design to withstand high shock and vibration and will cope with extreme environmental conditions. Assembly and test in the UK from EU sourced parts means no ITAR restrictions apply.

Visitors to stand S3-102 can also see a selection of precision mechanics, motion controls and software motion components from Heason Technology’s distribution partners:

Nanomotion produce linear and rotary micropositioning stages based on its direct-drive piezo-ceramic motor technology. With application successes that include sub-micron resolution positioners for autofocus on target acquisition systems or aperture control devices on military instruments, Nanomotion’s ceramic motor technology leads the way in miniature nanometre precision positioning with extreme acceleration characteristics as well as durability for heavy shock and vibration, high temperature, vacuum and non-magnetic use.

Ultra-compact servo drives and motion controls from Elmo Motion Control have the highest available power-density in the market and use the latest in EtherCAT networking technology for high speed multi-axis synchronisation. These are extensively used in demanding applications where space and weight is at a premium.

The Zettlex IncOder® is a unique inductive sensor technology which perfectly matches Heason’s design and build philosophy. Used to measure absolute position or speed accurately in harsh environments, the lightweight and robust non-contact rotary position sensors do not require bearings and have no delicate parts.

Linear actuators, linear units and precision mechanics from Thomson are used extensively for Heason’s custom-designed systems. With industrial and precision grade products to choose from, applications range from simple pick & place and materials handling to very high accuracy/high speed use in multi-axis positioning systems.

The Servotecnica range of slip ring assemblies and rotary joints allow the transmission of power, electrical, video and RF signals etc. from rotary to stationary platforms and vice-versa - and as such play an important role in some of Heason’s machine designs. These are available as separate slip ring and brush block components or complete assemblies, IP rated and with the integral durability to match arduous environments.

Heason Technology’s technical team will be on stand S3-102 to discuss and demonstrate component level motion solutions or complete multi –axis motion systems from a product range that spans components and systems from a select group of globally recognised distribution partners. These products blend with Heason’s unique in-house capability for motion system design, integration and build.
