A Precision Stage is a component of a motion system. They are used for applications where high precision positioning is required.
Precision Stages are used in applications where high repeatability, high accuracy and smoothness are critical. In order to achieve this high accuracy and repeatability required, all of our precision stages are manufactured to a very tight tolerance.
Screw Driven Stages
Direct Drive Stages
Rotary Stages
Precision Stages are available as either linear or rotary. They each address different degrees of freedom.
Linear Stages are typically available as either single axis or as an XY stage. With a set of linear bearing guideways attached to the base structure to provide support, each axis of the Linear Stage constrains the six degrees of freedom of the play load to only one translation along a straight line which is required for the unit to function.
Within a Linear Stage, the bearing guideways can be implemented in a few ways, for example;
Rotary Stages address three of the six degrees of freedom which are rotary. Many motion applications will require precise rotary motion positioning which can be achieved with a rotary stage.
Heason can provide a range of Rotary Stages with a variety of bearing and actuator technologies. As well as standard rotary motion systems, we also work closely with our customers to help create motion solutions for unique applications.
Precision Stages are commonly used in applications and environments including;
