Servo Motors from Heason Technology

Servo Motors are very common types of motors that are well suited to industrial applications where precision, speed and accurate positioning is required. Servo motors offer high performance and high power density with multiple options including brakes, electronics and feedback. They are a brushless motor with integrated feedback for closed-loop control.

Our range of servo motors suit many different types of harsh environments, including wash-down environments for food and beverage industries, explosion-proof environments found in oil and gas industries and environments with extreme temperatures.

We’ve put together our top types of servo motors and how they are best suited to your application.

Whatever your requirement, Heason Technology has it covered.

Servo Motors from Heason Technology

Standard AC Synchronous Housed Servo motors - AKM®2G & AKM

Kollmorgen’s AKM®2G Servo Motors are ideal for demanding applications that the standard AKM cannot meet. The new generation of synchronous servo motors feature six design sizes with performance levels between 0,3 and 10 kW, as well as continuous torque up to 72 Nm with more sizes in progress. The motors offer a wider speed range and smooth servo performance.

When used with the AKM®2G Servo Motor, the dual axis AKD®2G Servo Drive provides up to 30% more torque performance. This motion system combination delivers maximum automation productivity through power density, integrated STO safety and fast servo update rates.

Features of an AKM®2G Servo Motor include:

  • Different feedback system choices
  • Mounting /shaft options
  • Connector designs
  • Thermal sensor selections
  • Shaft seal options
  • Winding selections for different voltage requirements
  • Winding selections for different speed requirements
  • Brake option
  • Improved energy efficiency

AKM Washdown Servo Motor

Our AKM Washdown Servo Motors are available in frame sizes 58mm through 138mm. The motor integrates AKM electromagnetics within a housing protected by a 2-K coating and IP67-rated seal configuration. A stainless steel hardware is used on all precision interfaces. The model incorporates greases that are safe for related contact and consumption.

The AKM Washdown Servo Motors are a cost-effective alternative to motors that employ high-grade stainless-steel housings. They are ideal for use in industries that are subject to strict hygienic regulations, such as food, beverage and packaging industries. A food-grade model is also available that additionally features food-safe lubrication and materials.

Features of an AKM Washdown Servo Motor include:

  • Static torques from 1 to 25 N-m
  • Stainless steel shaft
  • Resistant to corrosive chemicals including highly acidic or alkaline cleaning products
  • Wide range of standard lengths, windings, feedback systems and connection technologies

AKMH Stainless Steel Series Servo Motor

With its unique all stainless-steel, smooth and round design, the AKMH Stainless Steel Servo Motor has been designed to meet the toughest hygienic requirements. The 316L stainless steel surface finish with smooth design reduces areas that can hide pathogens. IP69K certification means these motors can be washed down with high pressure and chemical cleaning agents. The result is motors that will last greatly, reducing the cost of ownership.

Features of a AKMH Stainless Steel Series Servo Motor include:

  • Hygienic housing design preventing the build-up of bacteria
  • Open machine design for easy cleaning
  • Single-cable connection reducing the effort required for cabling by 50%
  • High level product safety in accordance with USDA, 3A and NSF requirements

Cartridge DDR Servo Motor

The Cartridge DDR Servo Motor combines the performance benefits of a frameless motor with the installation ease of a full-frame motor. They feature an integrated and factory-aligned high-resolution feedback device, as well as a unique bearingless design that couples directly to the load, using the machine’s own bearings to support the rotor. Typically, most models can be installed in under five minutes.

Features of a Cartridge DDR Servo Motor include:

  • 5 frame sizes, multiple lengths
  • 230 / 400 / 480 VAC windings available (high and low)
  • 4.5 to 510 N-m (3.3 lb-ft to 376 lb-ft) non-stop torque
  • Speeds up to 2,500 rpm

VLM Servo Motor

The design of the VLM Servo Motor targets for the most common servo motor features, as well as offering torque ranges from 0.5N-m to almost 16 N-m. The motor delivers all the torque and performance of a ‘black’ servo motor whilst helping control application costs. They are of exceptional quality and value, easy to use and are available with standard connector options and matching cables.

Features of a VLM Servo Motor include:

  • NEMA 23 and 34 frame sizes
  • Rated speeds of up to 6,000 rpm
  • 1m and 3m lead lengths available
  • IP40 protection and RoHS compliant

We also have a range of frameless servo motors designed to be directly embedded within your machine to save cost and space.

Framless Motors

Frameless brushless motor ranges are available in 17 stator diameters, ranging from 59.9mm to 782mm, with continuous torques up to 3388Nm (10,000Nm peak). They are also available with hall options.

Our frameless motors can be easily integrated into your machine design. Heason can also design and supply these motor in a housing and output shaft to exactly suit your application.
