Heason's 2019 Fundraising Fun!

Throughout 2019, Heason have been taking part in numerous fundraising days and activities to help raise vital funds for various charities. It's always great to take part in fun events to help raise money for those less fortunate than ourselves.

Fundraising at Heason

Red Nose Day

In March we donned our red clothes and baking hats to raise money for Red Nose Day. This was the first time Heason had taken part in RND, so we’ll definitely be taking part in the next one! As RND is every two years, next year we’ll be taking part in Sport Relief.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

In September we hosted a Macmillan Coffee morning. We had a mixture of home-baked and shop-bought cakes brought in, as well as enjoyed playing fun games to help raise even more money this year than our 2018 amount! Macmillan is a fantastic charity that is close to a lot of our employee’s hearts for one reason or another.

Christmas Jumper Day

Christmas Jumper Day is always a fun one for us and raising money for Save the Children makes it even more enjoyable! This festive day brings out all the brilliant jumpers (some that have been hiding away for many years), lots of tinsel and plenty of festive spirit.

We also took part in the Variohm Holdings Christmas music video – check it out!

Heason Employee Charity Events

Back in May our UK & EU Sales Manager Ash Chury took part in  Birmingham & Midlands, cycling an incredible 100 miles through the West Midlands with 17,000 other riders. The race supports charities such as Alzheimer’s Society, Stroke Association and NSPCC.

Ash took part in the ride alongside a group of friends, including Steve Macdonald from our supplier Thomson Linear. Ash and the team had been training for the event for many months prior to the big day. Ash said "It was an amazing day. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute (except a couple of the steeper climbs!). The great weather and the amazing organisation really made the day."

Fundraising for 2020

Next year we’re aiming to take part in a ‘Tough Mudder’ type of event, or possibly a sponsored group walk or running event – we’re yet to decide, but watch this space! We also want to set up Amazon Smile, where Amazon donate 0.5% of the purchase price of your goods to a charity of your choice.

Overall, for such a small company with only 23 employees (currently), we’re really pleased with our fundraising efforts and look forward to more charitable events in 2020!
