What is an AKD-N Decentralised Servo Drive System?

An AKD-N decentralised servo drive system consists of a central power supply with robust IP67 rated Servo Drives which are installed near to the motor. This particular system offers everything that is needed for the next generation of machine design whilst removing anything that hinders the simplicity of the system.

The AKD-N drives cover a power range up to 4 kW and Safe Torque Off, as either grouped or single control. Tertiary EtherCAT output and local STO are also available as options.

This technology offers new possibilities, with the additional option in the future of establishing strong communication networks for connecting decentralised drive solutions.

This makes it possible to connect motion control applications – via software alone – with all the established real-time Ethernet systems now deemed indispensable to the highly dynamic food industry.

AKD-N Servo Drive Features and Benefits

The power supply of the AKD-N servo system, as well as safety and fieldbus communication, is combined in one single hybrid cable of 11 mm diameter. On the side of the motor there is only one cable required for power, brake control and feedback. As a result, this leads to cable savings in the machine of over 80%. Other features include:

• Multi-axis system
• Rated voltage between 400 & 480V, 3~
• Three current ratings 3A / 6A / 12A (continuous current)
• Protection class IP67
• Feedback types SFD, SFD3, Biss C, EnDat 2.1 and 2.2, Hall, Comcoder, Hiperface, Hiperface DSL
• EtherCAT fieldbus
