Our selection of Motors are primarily from our suppliers Allied Motion and Kollmorgen. We believe we this gives us the most complete range of high performance motors which are available on the market today.
Motors are used across a wide variety of industries. Some of the applications we have come across are, medical systems including life support, laser sighting, robotic systems, cryogenic cooling pumps and semiconductor processing equipment
The Motor product portfolio we have offers a tremendously wide variety of different size and package types. We also have a wide range of servo and stepper drives which are compatible with our motors. This enables us to fulfil the most demanding application requirements to ensure that machines are built faster and to a higher quality.
Stepper motors – also known as step motors or stepping motors, are named after the way that they work. They divide the full rotation into a given number of equally sized “steps”. A stepper motor can be position and a load can be held at any one of these steps. They offer fast and precise positioning and many of the stepper motors we offer are maintenance free. The use of stepping technology means that an open loop controller can be used; this simplifies the machine design which will make the cost of the system lower than that of a servo motor. Motion control becomes fast, precise and extremely cost effective with stepper motors from Heason. Our two phase motors can move at exactly 1.8° increments, which amount to 200 steps per revolution. We also have micro stepper drives which break the 1.8° increments into even smaller steps.
A servo motor is another common type of motor. These are well suited to precision velocity and positioning applications. They can be described as rotary actuators which allow for precise control of angular position. A stepper motor consists of a motor which is coupled to a sensor to provide position feedback. A servo drive, also available from Heason, is required to complete the system, we have a rage of servo drives which are compatible with our servo motors. The servo drive will use the feedback sensor to accurately control the rotary position of the motor. This is known as a closed-loop operation which allows servo motors to provide a high performance alternative to either stepper or AC induction motors.
Our range of servo motors suit many different types of environments; wash-down environments for food and beverage industries, environments which are explosion proof found in oil and gas or even environments which have extreme temperatures.
