Heason Technology's Clive Hook runs the 'Dramathon' in the Scottish Highlands

Our Production Engineer Clive Hook recently took part in the Dramathon, completing the 21km Half Dram race with a fantastic time of two hours and 14 minutes. The Dramathon is a marathon distance race from Glenfarclas Distillery to Glenfiddich Distillery, with the route following the beautiful River Spey along the Speyside Way, through Aberlour, past Craigellachie and on to the finish line at the Glenfiddich Distillery.

Runners had the choice of completing a full marathon (Glenfarclas to Glenfiddich), a half-marathon (Tamdhu to Glenfiddich), a 10km race (Aberlour to Glenfiddich) or a relay race (team of four divided up the marathon).

Clive took part in the Half Dram alongside wife Marianne and other avid runners in their family.
Clive and Marianne had been training for the race for eight months prior to the big day, aided by the ‘Couch to 5K’ app to help them reach their goal of completing the Half Dram. Those who completed the race were presented with eco-friendly medals made from old barrels which were once used in the whiskey distilleries.

Clive said: “What an incredible race route passing by some of the most iconic whisky distilleries in the highlands. Our mission was accomplished at a time of two hours and 14 minutes which we were very pleased with!”.

From everyone at Heason, it's a big well done to Clive and the family for completing the race!
