Heason Technology's Ash Chury takes on 100-mile Vélo Midlands Bike Ride

Starting in the heart of Birmingham City Centre, the route took riders through Coventry, cycling along the cobbled roads surrounding the historic Coventry Cathedral. In between the two city centres, riders also went through Solihull, Warwickshire, Dudley and Sandwell, encountering stunning countryside, panoramic views, picturesque villages and steep climbs along the way. Tens of thousands of people lined the streets to cheer the riders on.

Ash took part in the ride alongside a group of friends, including Steve Macdonald from Thomson Linear. All had been training for the event for many months prior to the big day. Ash said "It was an amazing day. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute (except a couple of the steeper climbs!). The great weather and the amazing organisation really made the day."
