What is a Stepper Motor?
A Stepper motor is a brushless motor consisting of a rotor and stator assembly. They move in discrete steps and come in a variety sizes and styles and electrical characteristics.
The hybrid PMX stepper motors from Kollmorgen have two windings that use a DC current. They have been designed with versatility, easy-of-use and cost effectiveness in mind. They provide high torque and come in a wide range of sizes, constructions, windings and options.
What does it do?
With six NEMA frame sizes including 08, 11, 14, 17, 23 and 34 each stepper motor in the PMX series provides several stack-length options and deliver holding torque from 2.8 Ncm to 11.4 Nm. The newest of the frame sizes, 08, 11 and 14, allow high quality miniaturised motion solutions with the same high standard and precision of the larger frame sizes.
They offer a number of standard options including bipolar and unipolar windings, integral connectors, shaft flats, keyways, rear shafts and IP65 sealings. They also have the ability to move in very small, very precise increments making them perfect for high precision application requirements.
