After leaving school I served a 3 year Apprenticeship as a Fitter /
Turner. At the University of Portsmouth I studied for a BEng. in
Mechanical Engineering and an MSc. in Advanced Manufacturing
Technology. In order to gain experience and understand an
engineering organization I worked in the following disciplines over
a 6 year period; Logistics Engineer for IBM; Manufacturing Engineer
for a gas detection manufacture; Design Engineer in precision
machining; R&D Engineer based in France for a manufacture of
diamond impregnated gridding tools as well as an Internal Sales
Engineer for a laser gauge manufacture.
Prior to Joining Heason Technology I worked for a leading
manufacturer of precision motion control for 10 years and promoted
from their UK Field Sales Engineer to the European Business
Development Engineer responsible for new OEM business. In
2010 I joined Heason Technology as the Sales and Marketing Manager
responsible for worldwide sales. My role within the organization is
split between new business development and the management of the
sales organisation. The versatility of our customers and
applications makes my role challenging and highly rewarding.

I started in France with a Scientific Baccalaureate in Physics and
Chemistry, followed by a two year apprenticeship in Mechanical and
Industrial Automation whilst at school. I initially came to England
to work for a CNC machine builder where I made technical
intervention with customers only a few weeks after I joined. I also
worked for Danaher Motion UK for more than two years in a technical
support role for all their products and was promoted to a Field
Applications Engineer.
In 2009 Heason Technology hired me as an Applications Sales
Engineer. I discovered a lot more interesting products and
opportunities which were vibrant and challenging in my career. This
year my role at Heason will alter slightly and I will become a
Field Sales Engineer covering the South of England and Wales. This
is another challenge in my career where hope to impress.

I studied at the College of Mechanical Engineering and Automation
(GAMF) in Kecskemet, Hungary as an IT Engineer. I started my career
with a market leading distributor and manufacturer engineering
company in Hungary.
In over five years I have gained experience in sales,
manufacturing, purchasing, procurement and quality
management.
Looking for a new challenge, I came to the UK at the beginning of
2011 and joined Heason Technology as a Sales Engineer responsible
for internal sales. I absorbed Heason's wide range of products and
system solutions quickly and with the opportunities at Heason I
found the boost in my career I was looking for. Based at Heason's
HQ in West Sussex, I can provide you with motion solutions
proposals and technical support.
A little bit about myself. I am big fan of Japanese Martial Arts
but not just on the TV. I hold a 2nd Dan grade (black belt) in
Nanbudo. I am a competitor as well as an instructor.

Jon Howard is the General Manager of Heason Technology with 30+
years' experience and literally hundreds of highly successful
motion applications to his credit.
After technical studies, Jon's first introduction to motion in the
early '80's was implementing six degree of motion hydraulic
platforms for the civil aviation simulator market. Supporting
ten tonne structures on a highly dynamic platform to provide the
highest fidelity of simulation environment was certainly a
challenge.
Stepping over the boundary from OEM user to system provider saw Jon
provide significant technical expertise to a new "start-up" motion
controller developer implemented the then latest in processor
technology; Motorola 68000 - shows the vintage!! Developing
onward from this was a natural evolution into the emerging factory
automation and robotics market from a motion controller and
electric actuator technology perspective.
Joining Heason Technology as Technical Manager responsible for
application development and support provided many opportunities for
diverse and innovative thinking. Successful applications over
the years include life science and medical research &
development machinery, factory automation, robotics, simulators,
semi-conductor processing equipment, to name but a few!!
Since Jon's appointment to GM in 2007, Heason Technology has
enjoyed substantial and sustained growth even through the
challenging economic climate of the 2008+ global recession.
Looking into the future, our horizons are firmly set on the
European and global markets with many notable successes already
across mainland Europe from Demark, to Spain, to France, to Germany
and beyond.
Our success is predominately achieved by way of the dedication and
motivation of our team of motion experts. The team comprises
of an array of complimentary talents with many 10's of years of
direct and relevant motion experience over a number of diverse
applications.

From school I took a conventional route of taking A Levels at
college and on to a BEng. Honours degree in Manufacturing Systems
Engineering at the University of Hertfordshire which covered a
multitude of engineering disciplines. For my first role after
completing my studies I became a Process Improvement Engineer for a
small fabrication & engineering company looking at developing
and enhancing various aspects of the company.
I then took my first step into the motion/automation industry as I
took a role as a Technical Support Engineer within the sales team
at Danaher Motion UK. The role included not only providing
technical support for their full range of servo & mechanical
linear equipment but also providing sales support working with the
distribution network and supporting key OEM accounts. The
role progressed into managing the sales office and the internal
sales team for which I continued until 2009 and at which point I
took the opportunity to progress into an exciting external role as
a Field Sales Engineer with Heason Technology.
Since joining Heason I have used my knowledge gained from my
previous role and developed this significantly to incorporate
integrated systems and controls. Due to the philosophy and
flexibility of Heason and our dynamic product range I am able to
support a broad range of applications in a variety of
industries. Based in Northamptonshire, I work out in the
field or from our midlands sales office. My primary role is
developing new business in the Midlands & North UK regions and
supporting our existing customer base.
